Having accrued three decades of professional experience, Michael Lawrence Segreto is highly regarded for his dedication to education. Since 2019, he has excelled as an emergency services program assistant for the Elgin Community College Center for Emergency Services. In this position, he assists instructors with preparing class materials and administrating driving simulations for professionals who work at fire departments, police departments and paramedic departments. Notably, Mr. Segreto and his team received an award for curriculum redesign for his work in converting Elgin Community College’s curriculum to align with the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education Program.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Segreto served Elgin Community College as an emergency services laboratory assistant, office administration technology laboratory assistant, academic support tutor and substitute instructor of the Business Division between 2007 and 2019. Earlier, he worked as a mapping technician for The Sidewell Company from 1998 to 2004 and as a sales associate for Franks Nursery & Crafts from 1992 to 1998. Moreover, he has been active as a presenter for the Illinois Business Education Association and Judson University. Upon reflection, Mr. Segreto attributes his success to his positive attitude and his constant passion to learn. He considers himself an open book, and he is always open to learning new material and new techniques.
To prepare for his professional journey, Mr. Segreto earned an Associate of Arts from Elgin Community College in 1994 and a Bachelor of Science in applied geography, with an emphasis on geographic information systems, from Northern Illinois University in 1998.
